Melbourne young gun Kysaiah Pickett has been offered a one-match ban for his bump on Patrick Cripps during the second quarter of the Blues’ two-point semi final win over the Demons.
The incident was graded as careless conduct of medium impact and high contact by match review officer Michael Christian.
The Carlton skipper was left bruised and bloodied after Pickett launched at him late and elected to bump by turning his shoulder.
Cripps was forced from the ground with blood streaming from his nose, however was not required to complete a concussion test before returning to the match.
The offence constitutes Pickett’s second rough conduct charge this season after he was handed a two-match ban for a similar bump on Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith in round one.
The incident with Cripps came after Pickett coughed up a shot on goal after a jumper punch to defender Mitch McGovern reversed a free kick. This act was also cited as striking and attracted a $1,500 fine with an early plea.
