The Cleveland Browns’ aspirations took a massive hit — no pun intended — on Monday night.
Their heartbreaking loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers was even more significant when they found out that they would also have to be without star running back Nick Chubb for the remainder of the season.
Chubb took a big hit to the knee and was in evident pain before being carted off the field.
That’s why fellow Cleveland fan favorite Donovan Mitchell took to Twitter to voice his support for the Georgia product.
Praying for you bro 🙏🏾🙏🏾 💯💯@NickChubb

Chubb had already suffered a major knee injury during his days in college, but he was able to overcome it and become the superstar he is nowadays.
The Browns will now have to rely heavily upon Jerome Ford, who thrived in Chubb’s absence with 106 rushing yards and 25 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown on three receptions.
They’re also likely going to explore some options in the trade market and free agency, with Kareem Hunt looking like a potential candidate after not being brought back in the offseason.
As for Chubb, he has an opt-out clause in his contract at the end of the season, and while some thought he could use it to try and leverage his way into a bigger contract extension, that’s not likely to be the case anymore.
For now, all that matters is that he’s able to come back to full strength and do what he does best, but that might not be the case, depending on the extent of the injury.
